Education:

John Papamastorakis obtained his PhD in Observational Astrophysics in 1975 from the Techniche Universitat Munchen (Germany).

Career:

He joined to University of Crete in 1985 as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted to an Associate Professor in 1990 and to Professor in 2005. He retired and was elected Emeritus Professor in 2009.
