Papanicolaou Nikolaos Papanicolaou Nikos

Education:

Nikos Papanicolaou obtained his Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (1970), and his PhD degree in Physics from New York University (1975).

Career:

He subsequently held research and faculty positions at the University of Paris (1975 - 76), the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton (1976 - 78), the University of California at Berkeley (1978 - 80), and Washington University, St. Louis (1980 - 90). He joined the faculty of the Department of Physics, of the University of Crete as a professor in 1990. He was the Chairman of the Department of Physics from 2003 to 2007.

Condensed Matter Physics, Nonlinear Dynamical Systems.
