Education: 

He obtained his BSc in Physics from the University of Athens, and his Doctorat d' Etat (1977) and Doctorat de Specialite (1973) from the University of Toulouse, France.

Career: 

He joined the Department as an Assistant Professor in 1985 and obtained tenure. In 2007 he was promoted to an Associate Professor. He retired and moved from the Department of Physics in 2013.

Interests: 

Throughout his academic career, the research of Prof. Karabourniotis focussed on Lighting plasmas, diagnostics and radiation transport, as well as atomic processes in plasmas.
