Goal of the courseThis is an elective course and expands on the material covered in Φ-665 on the theory and technology of laser.
SyllabusMaterial polarizability, Higher order properties, The dielectric tensor, The electro-optic effect, The acousto-optic effect, Harmonic generation, Parametric oscillation, third order effects (self-focusing, non-linear diffraction, wave mixing), Applications and practical systems.
