Stable singular fractional skyrmion spin texture from the quantum Kelvin–Helmholtz instability

The quantum Kelvin–Helmholtz instability can induce non-trivial topological excitations. Now a proof-of-principle experiment demonstrates the emergence of a stable singular fractional skyrmion spin texture originating from this quantum instability.
