Education:
Nikos Flytzanis obtained his PhD in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics from the Univ. of Virginia (USA) in 1972. His academic genealogy tree is here.
Career:
He joined the Department of Physics at the University of Crete as an adjunct faculty in 1982. He became an Associate Professor in 2001 and he was promoted to a Professor in 2010. He retired in 2013 and became Emeritus Professor in 2014.
Interests:
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, Josephson junctions, magnetic phenomena in materials, Non-linear phenomena and solitons.
