Νέα του Τμήματος Φυσικής

September 2018 marks 40 years since the first courses in Physics at the then "School of Physics and Mathematics" of the University of Crete, in the buildings of the Technical School of Nea Alikarnassos (in Heraklion). In the first year, 65 students were enrolled in the Physics "Division" of the School. The Department of Physics decided to celebrate the occasion with various events during 2018. The Department is very pleased, and proud, that a relatively large number of its graduates follow a successful research career in Greece and abroad. Throughout 2018 we will organize an "anniversary" series of seminars that will be given by former graduates of the Department who hold positions in Universities and Research Institutes in Greece (outside Heraklio) and abroad. Recent legislation regarding the higher education in Greece, which was approved by the Greek Parliament in 2007, lead to the creation of a new independent Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education. The principal goal of this Agency is to organize and supervise the process of the academic evaluation of all Departments in Universities and Technical Educational Institutes in Greece. The Department of Physics of the University of Crete, ever since its creation 30 years ago, was a proponent of the evaluation of its educational and research activities. Since the last evaluation of our Department, which took place almost a decade ago as a result of our own initiative, we were very interested to respond to the call of QAA and become one of the first departments in the country, which were evaluated at the end of 2008, using the new legislation.  

Εξωτερική Αξιολόγηση Τμήματος Φυσικής 2008 Σύμφωνα με τη νέα νομοθεσία για την τριτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση, η οποία επικυρώθηκε από το ελληνικό κοινοβούλιο το 2007, έχει θεσπιστεί μια ανερξάρτητη Αρχή Διασφάλισης Ποιότητας (ΑΔΙΠ) Ανώτατης Εκπάιδευσης, σκόπος της όποίας είναι να οργανώσει και να εποπτεύσει την διαδικασία αξιολόγησης όλων των Τμήματων στα ΑΕΙ και ΤΕΙ της χώρας.
