Konstantinos Roumpedakis received his B.Sc. (2011) and M.Sc. (2013) in Physics from the University of Crete and his Ph.D. with title "Aspects of Quantum Field Theory and String Theory" from the State University of New York at Stony Brook (USA) in 2020. His academic genealogy tree is here.
He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles (2020-2023) and at Johns Hopkins University (2023-2025). He joined the Department of Physics at the University of Crete as an Assistant Professor in the Spring of 2026.
His research focuses on Theoretical High-Energy Physics. His research interests include formal aspects of quantum field theory, such as generalized symmetries, low dimensional quantum gravity, as well as the application of artificial intelligence in theoretical physics.
