Education: 

Charalambos Katsidis received his degree in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1991. He holds two Master's degrees. One  in Electronic Physics - Radioelectricity from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1996) and one  in Education Studies from the School of Humanities of the Hellenic Open University (2009). He received his PhD in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2002.

 

Career: 

He was a highschool teacher from 1997 until 2022. From 2014 until July 2017, he served as Vice Principal at the 4th General High School of Heraklion. From August 2017 until August 2022, he served as Principal at the 4th General High School of Heraklion.

He has worked as a Scientific/Laboratory Associate in the Department of Applied Informatics and Multimedia of T.E.I. of Crete (from 2001 to 2011) and as Lecturer PD407/80 at the Department of Materials Science and Technology (from 2005 to 2013) and at the Department of Physics (2022, spring semester) of the University of Crete. He has also participated in research/development programs of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (PENED), the T.E.I of Crete (Enhancement of Informatics Studies, ARCHIMEDES II) and the University of Crete (THALIS) as well as in erasmus+ KA2 "School Education" and Horizon 2020 programs of the European Union.

In September 2022 he joined the Department of Physics of the University of Crete as a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff.

Optical Properties of Materials. Characterization of Materials with Fast Fourier Infrared Spectroscopy. Numerical Simulations of Radiation Propagation in Multilayered Structures. Simulations of Semiconductor Nanophotonic Devices.  Research in Education.
